Geologist Carol Hill has written similarly to him that the Flood occurred in 2900 BCE at the end of the Jemdet Nasr period, that Noah was Ziusudra king of Shuruppak. I agree with you and Robert that the ark landing on Mt. Cudi is not really historical. Dr. Hill though feels it’s important to keep the olive tree in the narrative which she says grows near Mt. Cudi, thus she feels the ark literally landed there. I also liked Robert’s idea that the “tops of mountains” were actually islands in the extended Persian Gulf the ark was in. Using a flood simulator, I believe I was able to see exposed elevated spots that would be these islands.
