Trump Prophet Tomi Arayomi
For someone introduced to prophecy since 1965, I am ahast at what I see in today's charismatic networks. I watched Sid Roth’s It’s Supernatural on Monday (Feb. 21, 2022) and was introduced to a trumpy prophet named Tomi Arayomi, a British citizen, a twin, reportedly a member of a family of professionals. Assessing first impressions, he is Black, middle-aged, good looking, has a pleasant voice, is calm and smooth in delivery, and demonstrates the gravitas of a confident man. He described the visionary call for him and his brother to preach, which if true, sounds credible. The story that an audible voice saved him and his family from a deadly freeway crash was not improbable. So, for a while, as I listened, I had no great objection to anything he said. In fact, it was pretty impressive. Then he dropped the bomb, and I almost fell out of my chair.
False Prophets
Before I get into his message, let’s review some pointers
about recognizing false prophecy:
Prophecy is meant to be judged, (Deut. 13:1–5; 1 Cor. 14:29;
1 John 4:1). In the Old Testament, punishment was severe for false prophets,
including execution. When the prophetess Deborah predicted an improbable
victory for Israel, General Barak demanded that she ride with the army and
share their ultimate fate, saying if we go out on your prediction and are
slaughtered, you die with us.)
Today’s prophets face no consequences for making false
national predictions. They just spin it away, happily moving the goal posts,
and the followers don’t pay enough attention to care. They just want to keep
hearing what they have already been trained to believe. Prophets can count on a
very loyal audience. Their followers trust them and can’t conceive that they
could preach the gospel and deliberately lie. So, the trump prophets encourage
their people to just trust them and exercise faith. Doubt is a lack of faith.
What could possibly go wrong?
Divine prophecy is genuine, powerful, and sacred (Amos 3:7; 1 Cor.
14:1), but false prophets who drag God’s name into lies and propaganda are
lying to the Holy Spirit, and I wouldn’t be in their shoes for all the riches
on earth.
Signs and wonders and actual true predictions are a sign of
a true prophet or modern-day apostle, but be aware that a false prophet can
have the same capability coming from a different source (2 Cor. 11:13–15).
Psychics can find lost dogs or tell someone who their next spouse may be with
no reference to God at all. Shamans and witch doctors can sometimes heal. When
a prophet or evangelist with charismatic gifts goes awry due to the temptation
to get rich through the ministry, their original gift may still be active.
Temptations for Genuine Prophets
1. The
pressure is strong to add to the word to please the hearers, to wrap a genuine
word in a media-worthy package in order to gain notoriety. When trump lost the
2020 election, a few prophets actually admitted that the pressure was immense
to say that Trump would win.
2. It’s
easy to infuse the word with what the prophesier already believes due to
saturating themselves with biased news, either left or right. Baked-in beliefs
seem harmless to insert into the prophecy because God would surely agree. With
trumpy prophets who spew Right Wing media talking points, God is always a
radical Republican, and that is a warning flag to be skeptical.
3. If
the prophet is tied to a particular ministry outlet or depends on certain
donors of a particular bias, prophesying something unpopular can pull the rug
out from a minister or ministry.
Improbable prophecies are fine if it’s in the future. A good
example of a seemingly impossible prophecy can be found in 2 Kings 6:24–7:20,
in which the city of Samaria was under siege by the Arameans. There was a
famine in the city, causing a mother to consider eating her own child. Elisha
prophesied that the siege would be lifted supernaturally overnight, and it was.
Listen to the Right News!
Although a prophecy need not be tied to normal expectations,
it must be tied to reality. If Joe prophet tells you that the sky is going to
be green tomorrow, one should wait respectfully to see if some new phenomena
will turn it green. He’s got until midnight to show results. But if Joe tells
you that the sky is green right now, and you look up, and it’s blue, don’t
believe anything Joe says.
Steve Schultz, the founder of the Elijah List, holy man that
he is, claims that he doesn’t “deal with the secular press.” I don’t know if he
listens to RW media or not, but his prophets surely do, because apparently
their Unholy Spirit is Fox News. Since Fox and the Republican party have all
skipped happily after Trump, and since Trump is an admirer of Putin, the party
is now the Grand Old Party of Putin. Someone tweeted this: Reagan: “Take down
that wall.” Republicans: “Take down that president (Biden or any Democrat
President).”
Anyone familiar with a broad spectrum of news knows that
Donald Trump is a liar, adulterer, con artist, and traitorous Russian asset. A
genuine prophet cannot call evil good or good evil. Everything the seers say
about Trump is the opposite of what he is, does, and says. It would take a book
to stroll through all the prophecies that I’ve collected and compare them to
known video recorded facts about Trump and Putin. The Republican party has
turned a blind eye to all of it with nastiness and hypocrisy so egregious that
there are hardly words to describe it.
Slander as Policy
That brings me back to Sid Roth and his interview with Tomi
Arayomi. Every prophet that Roth interviews is pro-Trump. Their god is a
definite Republican and is against everything that the “enemy,” the Jezebel
Left, does, so I expected a shoe to drop, and it did when Arayomi described a
dream he had. Before the 2008 election, he saw himself in a kitchen. Candidate
Barack Obama came in and poured himself a bowl of cereal and said, “I’m going
to be president of the United States of America, and people are gonna vote for
me, and they’re gonna let me in, and I’m going to put policies in the earth
that will destroy the earth forever, and I’m gonna get away with it because I’m
Black.”
That slander is on a par with Kim Clement intoning about
Hillary Clinton that “the enemy (the Left) wants to put a witch in the White
House.” Obama served eight years with no phony wars, no scandal, no secreting
classified papers into his residence, no resisting subpoenas, no cheating on
his wife, no need to pardon half his associates, and no genuine investigations
of wrong doing. He survived with grace a non-stop tsunami of hatred from the
Right and the rude bigots that still inhabit our land. He battled Republican
obstruction and double-standards that would wear any president down. He was
intelligent, thoughtful, well-informed, worked for the common good of the
people, and got life-saving health insurance for millions. But the only thing God
has to say about Barack Obama, who modeled a great family life, who had the
respect of most of our intelligence community and most of our traditional
allies, is that he’s going to destroy the planet and that he got elected
because he is Black? That kind of proclamation does not reflect the God of the
Bible.
Arayomi avoids examination and censure by teaching that “you
can be supernatural or you can be superficial.” According to Arayomi, mainstream
news is superficial and reflects the spirit of Jezebel, who metaphorically put
on her makeup before going after Elijah. (I admit, it’s a great metaphor.) He
says that the essence of the church is not the saving message of salvation or
helping the poor, but rather is revelation, because people don’t want to hear about
God, they want to hear God. Well and fine, but John 4:1 constrains us to test
the spirits because false apostles are a danger to the church and today a real danger to the planet. When false apostles gain the ear of US and world leaders,
as Arayomi says he has, they have the capacity to wreak immense harm.
RIG Nation
I did a little more research on Arayomi and found him on
Youtube. He founded a ministry called RIG Nation, which stands for Restoring
the Issachar Generation. 1 Chron. 12:32 tells us that the tribe of Issachar was
famous for knowing what Israel should do next, probably from a form of
divination or perhaps a tradition of psychic or prophetic capability. Well, who can argue with a tribe that doesn't have to read the news because god tells them everything they need to know?
Trump prophets were still predicting a miraculous or perhaps
violent reinstatement of Trump as president. Some, like Johnny Enlow, were
referring to Trump as “king of the US.” So, you can imagine how I perked up
when Arayomi stated in a Jan. 4, 2021 video that in 2021, “Prime ministers will become
presidents and presidents will become kings….2021 will be the year when my
ministers become presidents and presidents will become kings.” In other words, world leaders will crown themselves with additional and permanent power. Anyone who
follows “secular news” knows that Trump envied Kim Jung Un because he was
leader for life. President Putin, who managed to add years to his rule, would
fit Arayomi’s description of leaders that would try to do that very thing.
Throne Room Visions are Trending
Several of the trump prophets are still predicting a second term for Trump. Donna Rigney posted on The Elijah List how she was taken in the Spirit and sat on the throne between the Father and Jesus and was told a secret: “Donald Trump will be restored back to the presidency very soon, daughter. His work to restore this land to greatness will be completed.”
Funny that their “Father” hasn’t noticed that Trump’s lie
about winning the election has divided our nation and created an opportunity
for Republican-led states to institute cruel, hypocritical voting suppression
laws that throw the US decades backwards into a neo-Jim Crow era. Their god
doesn’t seem to mind that what used to be treason, aiding and abetting the
enemy, is now just being a Republican. Civil political discourse is a thing of
the past thanks to Trump. Professed neo-Nazis parade across Republican
conference stages.
Their father doesn’t mind that Trump has been indicted on 34
felony counts of falsifying business records when he and former attorney
Michael Cohen paid off a porn star to kill her embarrassing story. Their god
thinks that making a man who has just been successfully sued for being a sexual
predator and slanderer will restore America to greatness. Their god doesn’t mind
that Russia is presently raping Ukraine or that Trump’s former appointees and
enablers, not to mention our own congress people, praise Vladimir Putin and
trash our own current president.
Their father and god is the devil. I wrote Steve
Schultz, who I really believe means well, that the day will come when he will
fall on his face and beg God for forgiveness for the damage that he and his
cabal of “prophets” have done to this nation.
