The Commander-in-Chief Prophecy: How Has It Weathered After 9 Years?

It started with Kim Clement

In a recent blog post, I talked about Kim Clement’s Feb, 2007 prophecy that Donald Trump “will be a trumpet,” Bill Gates would open the gates to the financial realm (for whom? not sure), and that Rudy Giuliani would once again “watch over this nation” [as he did on 9-11].

Clement then begins to describe the man who would be “in the highest office.” He is undoubtedly thinking of Trump; however, on the left, we would say he is describing Obama. That man will serve two terms and will not be religious at first, but God will baptize him in the Holy Spirit. He will be a praying president, and will have a strong testimony by the time he leaves office. In my letter, I gave some background about Trump that insiders and New Yorkers would know, but that readers of right leaning media would not catch. I suggested that these “prophets” missed so many negatives and just judged by what they saw in RW media. In my humble opinion, to be so partisan in the name of the Holy Spirit, and especially to be so in error, is to throw your soul off a cliff.

Mark Taylor

Clement’s prophecy was like starting the embers in your BBQ, but it was too vague and short to set the world on fire. What set the Evangelical community ablaze was The Commander-in-Chief Prophecy in April, 2011. A man named Mark Taylor was watching Trump on TV and suddenly felt overwhelmed by the certainty that Trump was called by God to be president. He sat down and wrote what he thought the Holy Spirit was speaking to him. It’s too long to reproduce it all here, but I’ll try to capture the gist of it. I’ll also point out where this word goes terribly wrong.

“The Spirit of God says, I have chosen this man, Donald Trump, for such a time as this. For as Benjamin Netanyahu is to Israel, so shall this man be the United States of America.” [So far, not bad.]

“For I will use this man to bring honor, respect, and restoration to America.”

Not even close. Trump is a fast-talking con man, and he really knew how to sell himself. But after more than 3 years as president, he has done the opposite of restoring honor to the US. He has corrupted every office in our government by replacing leaders with expertise and values with loyalists who will do his bidding. World leaders are watching and are aghast at the loss of values and leadership that they used to look up to. The Ukraine affair got Donald impeached because he was trying to corrupt their new leader who won a difficult election by promising reform. I’ve no doubt that Mark Taylor meant well, but when you can’t tell the difference between inspiration from the Spirit and inspiration from partisan media, you are no prophet.

June 3, 2020:  Today it was reported that Angela Merkel doesn't want to come to the G-7 because of the Covid-19 virus, but also "I don't even want to be in the same room as the guy (Trump)." France and Canada are also disgusted with Trump's policies and don't want to appear to approve of him. None of them want Russia back into the G-7. Trump arranged for a widely derided photo op in front of the Episcopal church across the street from the White House. He held a Bible while he stood there stiffly and scowled. He went to the front of the church, which was empty of people because William Barr had the police and a new militia unit of mysterious origin remove all the people with tear gas and flash bang bombs. Barr, Mark Esper (Sec of Def) and others all stood there stiff and joyless for pictures. Then Trump and Melania went to a Catholic church for a photo op. Melania's expression these days is one of devastation. They stood rigidly side by side with blank faces before the altar. Someone tweeted that it looked like the beginning of a satanic ritual.

Esper won't be around long because he announced that he does not approve of active military troops being sent into the protests. He announced at one point that they would be sent back to their bases, then he had to retract that. His deputy resigned. Immigrants from countries run by dictators are warning us, "You are running out of off ramps, America." In other words, fix this before you can't fix it any more. Honor? Respect? No way.

Taylor goes on to promise that the US will be the strongest nation economically again. Our currency will be strong. Apparently the Almighty didn’t anticipate the Corona virus pandemic that trashed economies all over the world. Trump’s fans will point out that the stock market is just fine, thank you. But the average American doesn’t have stocks. Will Trump’s business acumen pull us out of this economic crisis? What business acumen? He bankrupted his organization, refused to pay his contractors, defaulted on loans, and had to pay a $25 million dollar fine for his fake, defunct university.

“This man knows all our tricks and schemes.” Our enemies will “shake and quake” when Trump announces his candidacy because they know he knows all the tricks by which they have taken advantage of America.

Oh, indeed he does because Trump has been using those schemes all his adult life. But the enemies of the U.S. are not quaking in fear. They are clinking their champagne glasses to celebrate, because one of their kind is running for president, and they can move in to take total advantage. The only people shaking and quaking are the ones who know enough history to see the demise of our democracy before out eyes.

“The Spirit says, HA! No one shall stop this that I have started! For the enemy has stolen from America and it stops now!”

Trump has often used the phrase ‘This stops now.’ It sounds so authoritative. It suggests, here is a man of action. An adult in the midst of naughty children. It probably got him a lot of votes.

"The enemy will say, Israel, Israel! What about Israel? For Israel will be protected by America once again. The Spirit says, Yes! America shall again stand hand and hand with Israel, and the two shall be as one."

Yes, the ties are very strong, because both Trump and Netanyahu are willing to shit all over the Palestinians, rob them of all material hope, and steal their land. All this in the name of God. A MAGA friend informed me that you can’t steal what is rightfully yours. God gave the land to the Israelis by way of promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, so they are just reclaiming what God gave them, and I guess the Palestinians are just the enemy and they can all go to hell, because the Evangelicals have NO plan for them. The Ten Commandments warn us not to covet our neighbor’s property and goods. But that is a complex topic that can’t be solved in a paragraph. The U.S. never abandoned Israel. Tension arose because President Obama wanted Israel to do what is right and cancel the settlements and the plans to annex the West Bank.

Shaking hands with Netanyahu and promising to move the embassy to Jerusalem bought Trump the devotion of the Evangelical community. It covered a multitude of sins that even they had to acknowledge in his life. It confirmed to them all the prophecies about him being God’s “David,” the anointed chosen one. They were over the moon with joy that God raised up this "godly" man to restore the fortunes of Zion. After that, and a few other perks for the Christian world, Trump could do no wrong.

The charismatic E’s are expecting a great harvest of souls in the near future. I’m not sure who they think the harvest will be. They have so many enemies—gays, feminazis, Palestinians, Muslims, humanists, the evil Deep State, the Illuminati, and all Democrats. We are all fodder for God’s wrath. Not sure where 1 Corinthians 13:2 comes in: “And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.”

“The Spirit of God says, I will protect America and Israel, for this next president will be a man of his word. When he speaks, the world will listen and know that there is something greater in him than in all the others before him. This man’s word is his bond, and the world and America will know this, and the enemy will fear this, for this man will be fearless.”

Ironically, the next president was Barack Obama (2012), and these words do describe Obama, but Taylor's PR partner, Mary Colbert, pointed out that the prophecy doesn’t kick in until Trump announced his candidacy. After he announced, he won. Can’t argue with that insight. This prediction is ludicrous. Trump lies every day. He rambles on in his speeches and rallies, acting juvenile and saying things that are just stupid. He mocked a disabled reporter and got his fans laughing behind him. He mocked Eric Garner, a black man who was strangled by a cop on the streets. "I can't breathe, I can't breathe," said Trump making weird faces and gestures. The MAGAs behind him thought that was hilarious.

The thing about stupid is that it can't recognize itself, so the stupidity hasn't slowed Trump or his devoted followers. Our allies have given up on hoping he will grow into the job. They've moved on without us. They shake their heads and wonder what the hell happened to us that we elected this guy. Even Russia laughs at us. On state TV, they acknowledge publicly that Trump is in Putin's control. Today, June 3, 2020, the sheriff of Houston TX said that if Trump can't say anything helpful, he shouldn't say anything.

“The Spirit of God says, In this next election, they will spend billions to keep this president in; it will be like flushing their money down the toilet. Let them waste their money, for it comes from and it is being used by evil forces at work, but they will not succeed, for this next election will be a clean sweep for the man that I have chosen.”

This section can only apply to a race between Obama and Trump in 2012. Here Taylor goofed in a big way. In the 2016 election, there is no amount of money whereby the Dems could keep their president in because his second term was over. As for the “evil forces,” this is the classic CRW meme that Dems are the enemy and their agenda is to take over the world, ruling with corrupt money distributed by demonically influenced Deep State types. That is actually more apropos in describing the Republican party, but you’ll never convince Taylor and the E’s of that.

“They will say things about this man (the enemy), but it will not affect him, and they shall say it rolls off of him like the duck, for as the feathers of a duck protect it, so shall my feathers protect this next president.”

Oh my, Mark should join Twitter. Trump rage tweets almost every day, accusing his critics and opponents of everything that he himself does. He calls people juvenile names, smears them, insults them, mocks them. While Mitch McConnell opines that it’s not “classy” for Obama to criticize Trump (finally!), Trump has been trashing Obama and laying ludicrous blame at his feet for various Republican failures for the past 3.5 years. There is no way the Spirit of God dictated this to Mark Taylor.

“Even mainstream news media will be captivated by this man and the abilities that I have gifted him with, and they will even agree with him, says the Spirit of God.”

Trump TV (Fox) adores Trump…well, maybe not, but their agenda is to proclaim that Trump is wonderful, competent, intelligent, great, God’s gift to the world. Mainstream media, however, still criticizes Trump and disagrees with much of what he says and does. So, Mark pulled this out of his…hat.

It’s really helpful to read Mark’s book The Trump Prophecies: The Astonishing True Story of the Man Who Saw Tomorrow...and What He Says Is Coming Next. Something spiritual did happen with him, accompanied by compelling signs, dreams, visions, and messages. He really does love Jesus, as do all of his fans and supporters. He does NOT want to deceive anyone, although he clearly has. How does it happen that a genuine Christian who assumes that God will not let them be led astray by false spirits fall into the very trap they abhor? He is not the only victim here. A deceptive New Age movement has hijacked the genuine U.S. charismatic movement.

In one of the early chapters of Mark's book, he describes a telephone conference with two other intercessors (prayer warriors, many of whom have prophetic type experiences). They examined his life to see if there was anything he needed deliverance from or if some generational influence could be causing the demonic opposition he was experiencing. They decided that the strong Freemason influence in his family was the culprit. I can actually relate to that as a former charismatic myself. It sounds loony to a person who does not believe in supernatural things, but for a Pentecostal or conservative Christian, generational curses are established beliefs. So yes, they broke that through prayer, and the next day his uncle called to say that his wife lost her wedding ring and he lost his Mason ring. They took that as a sign that a negative spiritual influence was broken.

So why are his prophecies still so far afield from reality? There is one influence that he didn't get delivered from, and in my opinion it has ensnared all those who call themselves "prophets" in the pro-Trump movement. Fox News is a station dreamed up by a vile, sexist, influential partisan named Roger Ailes. He got his inspiration for the station from a conversation with Richard Nixon. If Nixon had had a Fox News in his day, he wouldn't have had to resign. The station is owned by a British libertarian millionaire named Rupert Murdoch. He has one son who helps him run the business and another who declares publicly that Fox is ruining America. It is a demonic poison well, spewing lies, mockery, partisan propaganda, hypocrisy, smears, conspiracy theories, and political division every day. I wouldn't trust a spiritual word that comes from anyone who is a regular fan of Fox News.

Kathie Walters

Another prophetic personality who has had me scratching my head for years is Kathie Walters. Her pro-Trump revelations baffled me because they were so compelling but so wrong. Like Taylor and Clement, she has a credible ministry and following, but the dreams and experiences she had regarding Trump were the opposite of what is happening. She claimed in a compelling way that Trump would restore the Constitution and clean up corruption in Washington DC. The view from the Left is the opposite. Trump, AG Barr, Mitch McConnell, Fox News, and the whole GOP Senate are shredding our Constitution and all the norms and statutory guardrails that protect our way of government.Trump has vilified our intelligence community, our free media, our oversight system, our former president, and all science in our government.

Then recently Walters shared an experience with her email followers in which she heard knocks on her bedroom door. Three knocks, three times. Later she saw an "angel" sitting on her bed. That is classic Freemason/paranormal/New Age/UFO stuff. Kathie is not a Mason, nor a New Ager, and her intention is not to deceive anyone. But biblical prophecy is not compatible with any paranormal source, no matter how attractive it seems.

The Trump effect--it rots everything it touches or that touches it.

If Mark Taylor's prophecy didn't totally seal the deal with Evangelicals, Kim Clement's 2014 prophecy hit the ball out of the park. That is the topic of my next blog.
