A Brief Summary of Michal Cohen's New Book, Disloyal

I just finished Michael Cohen's book Disloyal A Memoir: The True Story of the Former Personal Attorney to President Donald J. Trump. It was riveting and hard to put down. Every single incident that he describes as Trump's attorney and "fixer," Rachel Maddow covered accurately, asking all the right questions, so little was new and nothing was surprising. Rachel doesn't do her own research on these kinds of issues. She gets in touch with the journalists from Washington Post, New York Times, Vanity Fair, Wall Street Journal, Politico, Axios, Daily Beast, Buzzfeed, and many, many others. Many of the scoops received are actually leaks from anonymous sources who are concerned that important information will be buried to the detriment of the American people.

It confirmed that DJT knew, and was told in person, about the infamous June 9, 2016 meeting with Don Jr., Paul Manafort, and Jared Kushner, and five Russians to get "dirt" on Clinton. Cohen was in the room when Trump approved the meeting. That is collusion. It's unethical, unconstitutional, and maybe illegal. (The GOP in Congress all know it, too, but they won, so they don't care. This may be the most unprincipled GOP Congress in history.)

He confirmed that Trump knew about the Karen McDougal payoff. DJT was supposed to pay back the Natl Enquirer for the $150,000 they paid forward to catch and kill the story, but the Don stiffed them. Then he almost stiffed Cohen for $130,000 payoff to Stormy Daniels, but Cohen threw a tantrum, so they set up fraudulent "consulting" payments, all of which somehow found their way to Rachel Maddow.

It was Cohen who was sent to the military Academy where Trump finished school. He threatened lawsuits and annihilation if they dare release any of Trump's school records. He collected them all and carried them away. All the while, Trump was publicly dismissive of Obama's academic accomplishments.

During the campaign, Trump told the American people that there were no deals with Russia and no relationship with Putin, yet all the while, he knew that Cohen and Felix Sater were working on a deal for a Trump tower in Moscow. Trump signed a Letter of Intent about it with an official in Russia.

Cohen describes a super raunchy sex club event in Las Vegas with two Russian friends who also hosted Trump in Moscow for the Miss Universe contest in 2013.

Cohen confirmed that when DJT said he had sent a team to Hawaii to investigate Obama's birth certificate and that they were making astounding discoveries, there was no team, no discovery. Cohen was in Trump's office and watched him invent that story while sitting at his desk.

The book describes the sleaze of the whole administration and all the petty little people in DJT's orbit...the lying, cheating, adultery, malicious slander, all to gain an advantage over an opponent or get revenge on some critic, the dirty deals, lack of concern about who gets hurt, and lack of concern about the well being of the nation. Cohen doesn't spare himself in that judgment. He exposes the National Enquirer, its former CEO David Pecker, Murdock's Fox News, and Murdock's New York Post as propaganda outlets willing to deal and smear to support Trump and the RW cause.

Cohen and others who are writing books in this era show clearly how vulgar and lewd Trump is, and how Melania knows, but doesn't care because there is scant love in that relationship. She is mostly dedicated to her son Barron. (She is getting her piece of the pie without dipping into the worst of the sludge. Remember that both were friends with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, and there are plenty of photos and videos to prove it. Both knew that the girls at those parties were "on the young side." Neither cared.)

It's not just a book about Trump. It's about the sycophants, including Cohen himself, drunk with a desire for money and power, and the thrill of the high wattage life of private jets, high finance, and world influence. Cohen's family wanted him to get out of it because they were kind, decent people. Cohen was captivated by it until the day the FBI raided his house. Even then, he was still loyal to Trump until he realized that when he was no longer useful, he got thrown under the bus with all the others who were discarded. (Trump made a big mistake in that, because when he was angry and wanted revenge or something fixed, he sent his attack dog, Cohen.

Cohen can match Trump aggression for aggression. His ultimate revenge was to finally tell the truth about everything. He began with a riveting warning to Congress. The first time before Congress, he "lied and lied and lied." The second time was totally different. Then he wrote his book. He started it in prison.)

That is just a few of the highlights and it only deals with situations where Cohen was involved. Other books written by former insiders deal with the chaos in the White House, the Russian collusion, the obstruction of justice, Trump's battles with the intelligence community, the gutting of Departments in our government, the Ukraine deal that got Trump impeached, the danger of the Trump administration to our constitutional govt, Trump's troubled upbringing and resulting psychosis, and Trump's relationship with Epstein, etc, etc. The books are undoubtedly not done being written.

Trump is NOT the law and order president. Cohen warns that when Trump jokes about staying in power for three terms, he's not joking. He does not believe that Trump will leave office peacefully.
