Evangelicals and Trump: Here's Why They Support Him

Image
We’ve all heard the question. What are they thinking? How can so-called Christians support a president who has lived the life of a crime boss, with all the classic deceit, corruption, and damage?  How to politically seduce an Evangelical First, we need some context. Going back a few years, there are several influential movements that came together like streams in a watershed, resulting in a political-spiritual swamp just waiting for the right creature to thrive there. Like the dinosaurs in the La Brea Tar Pits, today’s Evangelicals are caught in the ooze of that swamp, a snare that was decades in the making. Make no mistake, it’s a Republican swamp. That is not to say that Democrats are always innocent, but todays miasma has a Republican stink. The first was the Koch movement to set up think tanks, foundations, and institutions to spread, not just conservative policy, but winner take all libertarian ideocracy. They played the long game over decades, and they succeeded in changi...

Charles Shamp Tells America What is Coming Next

Image
President Trump, Sergei Lavrov, and Sergey Kislyak in the Oval Office, where Trump let slip some important top secret information The First Church of Fox News I have been railing at Steve Schultz, the founder of Elijah List, a news group for modern “apostles” and “prophets” to air their revelations, throughout the entire Trump saga. I’m offended that they call Democrats “the enemy,” as if all Democrats are Jezebel, the enemy of God, whereas the prophets are all Elijah, the persecuted and misunderstood, and the Evangelicals are “my people,” and they are all persecuted. I’m amazed that their god is as much a Republican as the Virgin Mary is a Catholic. Their god apparently watches Fox News and then sends his angels with messages of Republican talking points and governmental policy. Their god never chastises Russia, is not concerned about the need for public assistance, always lifts up Trump as his anointed, “the man in God’s hand who will never be impeached,” turns a blind eye to all t...

The Wedding Dream - It's Over, Donald

Image
UPDATED April 21, 2017 I have been blogging about the dreams of other Christian ministers, and I've been pretty harsh about them. I also have prophetic dreams about presidents, but mine contain a very different message.  THE WEDDING DREAM – IT’S OVER   I had a dream on April 21, 2017 during a nap. I was on a campus similar to a school. I walked along an outside walkway, just outside the gymnasium, and noted debris here and there which included some picked flowers. Soon a woman came up to me and said, “The wedding is over.” I answered, “What wedding?” She said, “Look, the bouquet.” I looked down and realized that someone had stomped along this sidewalk and had thrown away wedding mementos. The wedding bouquet on the ground represented someone who had utterly called off a marriage. The remnants of the ceremony were in the school gym. One of the things on the ground was a long Halloween decoration. I said, “The wedding was to be in October.” It was a paper chain, like we us...

A Brief Summary of Michal Cohen's New Book, Disloyal

Image
I just finished Michael Cohen's book Disloyal A Memoir: The True Story of the Former Personal Attorney to President Donald J. Trump . It was riveting and hard to put down. Every single incident that he describes as Trump's attorney and "fixer," Rachel Maddow covered accurately, asking all the right questions, so little was new and nothing was surprising. Rachel doesn't do her own research on these kinds of issues. She gets in touch with the journalists from Washington Post, New York Times, Vanity Fair, Wall Street Journal, Politico, Axios, Daily Beast, Buzzfeed, and many, many others. Many of the scoops received are actually leaks from anonymous sources who are concerned that important information will be buried to the detriment of the American people. It confirmed that DJT knew, and was told in person, about the infamous June 9, 2016 meeting with Don Jr., Paul Manafort, and Jar...

Kim Clement’s 2014 Prophecy—So Compelling…So False

Image
The conservative Christian population was always going to be pro-Trump. His total support of the policies of Benjamin Netanyahu, his authority to appoint RW judges, and his pro-life statements made him their inevitable choice.  But the Trump prophets caused Christians to be afraid to question if Trump was God’s choice.   The pastors of conservative churches painted the Democrats as the enemies of God, so voting for any Democrat would be rebellion against the Almighty. Dem leaders are not people to them. Certainly not people of faith. Thanks to Fox News, the Christian Right Wing has no idea what they think, do, or stand for. I’m trying to give readers the theological vocabulary to change that. IF perchance a Democrat candidate or office holder has any faith at all and believe in the power of prayer, they should tell the conservatives and listen to their concerns. Let them know there are more ways to worship Christ than as a Tea Party anti-science Republican. In two former blo...

The Commander-in-Chief Prophecy: How Has It Weathered After 9 Years?

Image
It started with Kim Clement In a recent blog post, I talked about Kim Clement’s Feb, 2007 prophecy that Donald Trump “will be a trumpet,” Bill Gates would open the gates to the financial realm (for whom? not sure), and that Rudy Giuliani would once again “watch over this nation” [as he did on 9-11].  Clement then begins to describe the man who would be “in the highest office.” He is undoubtedly thinking of Trump; however, on the left, we would say he is describing Obama. That man will serve two terms and will not be religious at first, but God will baptize him in the Holy Spirit. He will be a praying president, and will have a strong testimony by the time he leaves office. In my letter, I gave some background about Trump that insiders and New Yorkers would know, but that readers of right leaning media would not catch. I suggested that these “prophets” missed so many negatives and just judged by what they saw in RW media. In my humble opinion, to be so partisan in the name of the Ho...

Kim Clement Drops a Small Nuke on the USA

Image
In 2007, a charismatic “prophet” named Kim Clement began prophesying about a wealthy playboy named Donald Trump. He knew of Trump, of course, because by 2003, Trump was already a star on the show Access Hollywood. He was a catch for an interview--attractive, rich, married to a series of gorgeous women. His latest was Melania in 2005. By 2006, she had delivered a son named Barron. There were articles depicting their gold-studded family life. Trump owned casinos and hotels and golf resorts, and he loved to opine about politics in telephone interviews with other celebrities. He was a fast talker in those days with a silky voice. Plenty of female interviewers swooned to get him on their shows. Since he bore no actual political responsibility, he could express himself freely with no negative consequences. In 2007, Trump looked on the surface like a giant personality striding across the globe with grace and confidence. This TV Trump is the image that influential Evangelical leaders fell in ...

Abortion vs Pro-Choice for Christians

Image
There is no topic that arouses more emotion and conflict that abortion. I find that I am at conflict with myself over the issue.  Theologically I am prolife, and I’ll tell you why in a bit. But politically, I’m pro-choice . I’ll explain later.  Here’s why I, and every Christian I’ve ever known, am prolife.  Three stories reveal the child before conception First story: In the 70’s I had a friend named Mary. She was short, blonde, and cute in a unique gnomish way. There was only one Mary. No one else came close to looking like her. She married and had a daughter. One day they had a Pentecostal prayer meeting in their home. A man who had been an alcoholic, but had converted and been delivered, had a vision. Their daughter was an infant at the time. He saw a new baby, and saw the little girl riding a tricycle in the house. He said, “Mary, the baby looks just like you.” Mary and I were living in different locations at that time, so I never heard about that prediction. Well...
